House as Field at Anisette!

Raleigh, NC artist Miriam Welch is the force behind House as Field. She thrives from the process, ritual, and repetition of printmaking. Her work presents playful structure. Although the designs are multiples, they each hold a one-of-a-kind essence. Miriam uses printmaking and sewing as a means to slow down, take time, and ease her mind. She is a romantic at heart which explains her soft spot for handmade goods. Each piece is a part of her. Her business "House As Field" was started in 2016 with the mission to provide high quality handmade textile goods for a sustainable lifestyle. Her highly conceptual brain explains the meaning behind her work and company name... just imagine dancing to Talking Heads set in the English country side in 1813 - this is Miriam. Her recent venture has been using the scraps left from making pillows to create collaged textile wall hangings.

Miriam's beautiful work will be in the shop through the end of September.
